An English Manor House for Meaningful Gatherings

A place where history, nature and thoughtful hospitality come together.

Set within 22 acres on the Essex–Suffolk border, just an hour from London, yet a world apart.

ABOUT SHORE HALL

For more than 450 years, Shore Hall has welcomed guests through its doors. Today, this 16th-century Grade II listed estate provides an inspiring setting for corporate retreats, leadership off-sites, private celebrations, creative residencies and luxury group stays. Here, ideas have room to breathe, conversations unfold without interruption, and time is measured by shared meals, long walks and evenings by the fire.

The Manor House and Writer's Cottage accommodate up to 22 guests across ten beautifully appointed bedrooms, while eight characterful spaces adapt effortlessly for workshops, dining, presentations and celebrations.

Beyond the house, formal gardens, orchards, wildflower meadows and ancient woodland invite guests to step outside, slow down and reconnect—with colleagues, friends, family and the landscape itself.

Behind the centuries-old walls, Shore Hall is equipped for the way people gather today. Gigabit fibre broadband, estate-wide mesh Wi-Fi, professional audiovisual facilities, cloud-based security, keyless entry and smart EV charging provide a seamless experience for both business and leisure guests, while on-site solar energy reflects our commitment as a Certified B Corp to the long-term stewardship of this remarkable place.

Stay: Manor House Accommodations

Sleep up to 22 in beautifully appointed rooms across the South Wing, North Wing, and the Writer’s Cottage. Each space is individual, considered, and quietly luxurious — the kind of accommodation that makes you arrive as a guest and leave as a regular.

Gather: Event Venues & Corporate Retreats

Nine event spaces — from the Great Hall and Great Lawn to the Morning Room and Library — give your team, board, or group the setting to think clearly, connect genuinely, and leave with something real. As a corporate retreat venue with exclusive-hire accommodation on site, Shore Hall is available for away days, private events, and offsites of every kind.

Grow: Growth & Learning

Shore Hall offers a rare combination of leadership coaching, equine assisted learning, and executive development — all set within a working estate that encourages reflection as much as action. Programmes are led by Lara Holliday, executive coach and accredited Equine Facilitated Learning practitioner.

More Than a Venue. A Place With Purpose.

Flexible hire options
